1972 911S / ST Canadian Race Car

This great old race car is a genuine period built Group 5 competition Porsche. It was converted to ST specifications when new using a real '72 911S for Canadian racer, Jaques Bienvenue as a backup car for the '72 season. This is documented by a letter from Bienvenue as well as correspondence from a prior long-term owner who vintage raced this car in the '80s. There is an SVRA medallion on the dash which was only issued to real period race cars during that time period.

The engine is a 2.5 with genuine Porsche High Butterfly injection system. Because this 911S has been raced since new the body tub is free of rust. The front tub number is clear and present. There are lots of cool period details such as a 10K tachometer, old toggle switches for the endurance lights, lightening of the tub and doors, period fiberglass parts and real 8 and 9 inch Fuchs wheels as well as many other period modifications that tell the story of this great old warrior. Unrestored race cars from the Long Hood era are getting increasingly hard to find and are usually restored (not always correctly) and expensive. This car is a great basis for a basic clean up and continue racing it as it is or a full restoration to a high standard for entry in the big vintage events. This is a great deal however you look at it. A real '72 911S, 2.5 High Butterfly with period competition history. The new owner will be rewarded with a valuable and desirable Comp 911 when completed. Porsche trades that make sense considered.
